Confluence of Events

It's quite the confluence of events this weekend. The sister is here from the Okanagan so my nephew can play in some baseball games, some friends are here from Ottawa, and a group I belong read in the Summer Dream Reading Festival at Robson Square. If ever there was a time to skimp on the sleep and be awake in the day, this is it.

My reaction to minimal sleep is always a little unpredictable. Happily, zombie boy stayed home so I've done pretty well on 3 1/2 hours. Conversation has been more sophisticated than "um, yah", minimal cursing and loss of temper, especially at other drivers, and I didn't feel like puking my guts out when I got up.

The only thing I didn't do that I wanted was the Illuminares lantern festival at Trout Lake. Still, a Reading Festival, baseball game, dinner with friends and visiting with relatives isn't a bad day.

The only thing left is the price I'll pay tomorrow . . .
