Bullwinkle Defense System

Your ICBC car insurance dollars at work:

The Bullwinkle Defense System
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- The same Star Wars technology that the U.S. military developed as a defense system against missiles is now helping Canadians in their battle against pesky wildlife.

I hope it works better than photo radar and the face recognition software that was going to catch all those crooks!

Still, the technology is cool. I'm waiting for the head up display (HUD) with FLIR (forward looking infrared radar) for my card windshield.

A very happy birthday to my nephew, Eric. Happy Birthday!!! Hope you get lots of really good swag for your birthday.

Coming Up For Air!

OMG, time really flies.

Most of my time the last 3 weeks has been spent working on a lab for the Java programming course I'm taking. I'm having an absolute blast on this course and put way more into the lab than I had too. I think it was worth it, though. The actual program wasn't that hard. I also built a test framework around it. I think the test framework was more work than the lab. I not only learned quite a lot about the programming but a lot about the testing. Unfortunately, I've done very little else but program. Program was submitted yesterday, I’m a free man. Sort of.

A belated happy birthday to my sister-in-law. They don't have Internet access so she'll never read it, but hey, I wish her well none the less.

My folks were down for a quick visit. Food and family, you can't beat it. Had supper with them and my brother. If you recall I was whining about getting a gift for my Mom. I found a nice little brooch, which she wore at supper. (Did you wonder if I'd noticed!)

When I've been too fried to program, which usually means to do anything else creative or intellectual, I've been continuing to play Dark Age of Camelot. A fairly consistent group seems to have come together, so it's a lot of fun. I started a new character, Alar, who's turning out to be much more fun than Galdery.

My friend Roger is back in town, YEAH! Helped him move into his new apartment. He's so much more efficient than I am. It's only been 2 weeks and he's basically totally settled in. Got another friend in a plane for a trip to Germany.

Time to catch up on some of the other stuff I've ignored.
