Schneier: Katrina and Security

Bruce Schneier is a "security technologist and author". He's also a very clear writer and even if you disagree with him his stuff is worth reading. Not that I disagree with him often.

I happen to think what he discusses in this op-ed piece is bang on:

Our [the American] government's ineptitude in the aftermath of Katrina demonstrates how little we're getting for all our security spending. It's unconscionable that we're wasting our money fingerprinting foreigners, profiling airline passengers, and invading foreign countries while emergency response at home goes underfunded.

More Game Good Byes

A timely visit by my sister and her family a bunch of weeks ago lead to the "big bag 'o games" being carted off by my nephew. I'm not sure whether or not I will incure the wrath of my sister over this, but time will tell...
