First day of paid work since I left my last job. My old employer had some work for me on a mini-computer system not so many seem to know about any more. The welcome back was incredible, so many people were happy to see me. Wow.

No revelation, work really takes a chunk out of the day. Getting up a 7am was interesting, too. Not as bad as I thought, but I'm just not so chipper in the early am. So used to going to bed later that I couldn't fall asleep when I wanted, either. That shouldn't be a problem tonight.....

Monday was another first, Tai Chi. (Or Di Gee following the instructors pronounciation.) I previously took Kung Fu, and was beginning to really miss martial arts. My schedule, even before the work, wasn't going to allow me back at the studio I was with before. They need too large a time committment. I've been curious about Tai Chi and this class is only an hour a week. It was wonderful getting back into the motions, but an hour isn't enough!!! We were just getting warmed up for crying out loud. My body was ready for some faster moves, too. Please, just a few block and counter drills, maybe a couple snap kicks. Maybe the slowness will be good, or maybe in January I'll try Capoeira.

Lost & Found

Haven't posted for a while, don't know why. Maybe the brain didn't have enough gas to fart. Hmmm. Sometimes it's better not knowing.

It's amazing how smalls things can bring big pleasure. Something like 6 months ago I lost my second set of keys. It was just my apartment and car keys, useful for guests and those times I didn't need the full meal deal on the main key chain, but they were really handy. I couldn't have lost them or I wouldn't have gotten back in the apartment. I looked everywhere - or so I thought - on several ocassions. Then yesterday while digging under the sofa cushions for the TV remote, you guessed it, there they were. You'd think I'd won the lottery the way I was grinnin' for the rest of the day. Much more satisfying than finishing a year of income taxes.
